Our Company

Lingeman & Smith Medical (LSM) is a small, hands-on engineering services firm supporting medical device teams with development, testing, manufacturing, and quality-related challenges.

Founded in 2013 and based in Indianapolis, Indiana, we work closely with our clients to reduce technical uncertainty and make better decisions by generating high-quality, actionable data that connects design intent, manufacturability, and clinical performance. We take a personal approach to our work—our team is deeply involved in every project, and we care about the outcomes as much as our clients do.

Prior to founding LSM, both founders were integral members of Boston Scientific’s Urology Stone Management R&D group, contributing to technologies developed within the world’s leading urology organization. That experience shaped how we think about product development: rigorous engineering grounded in clinical reality, paired with practical execution. We built LSM to bring that same level of technical discipline and accountability to teams of all sizes.

Over the past 13+ years, LSM has been deeply involved in the development of single-use endoscope platforms and supporting technologies, building a level of experience that few organizations can match. Just as importantly, we have learned how to adapt advanced development and test methodologies into simpler, faster approaches that accelerate learning and feedback. This ability to shorten learning cycles -while preserving data quality- allows us to positively impact product development, manufacturing performance, and problem solving in a way that is both effective and efficient.
